About the Author

Hello There! I'm Robert, the author of this website. I hope you found the information here someone enlightening or interesting on what exactly servers are. Though I encourage you to go out and see waht you can do on your own. As I only barely scratched the surface with this site. I know personally I find these things fascinating and can end up spending hours just reading and reading and pouring over documentation. For me it's been something I've been interested in my whole life and I'm up to my eyeballs in this stuff, but I love sharing it to with people no matter where they are at.

My Experience

My experience has primarily come from both my own reading and research, and a very healthy dose of trial and error with my own Homelab. Which at this point has grown to incredible size. If I had to quantify it though:

  • Formal Experience

    • BCSD: Summer Tech - 2019
    • TeamLogic IT: Network Systems Administrator - 2023
  • Informal Experience

    • COFC CyberSecurity Club: (Vice) President - 2022-2024
    • BarePC: Technical support and PC servicing for friends & Family - 2017-present
    • HomeLab: Extensive testing and experimentation with various software, systems, and services. 2018-present

What I'm Doing Now

Right now I'm persuing two degrees in Computer Information Systems and Data Science at the College of Charleston in (you're never gonna believe this) Charleston, South Carolina. I'm just a stones throw away from home and my projects so I'm still constantly working on my HomeLab. Though most of what I do I can do remotely through my VPN setup.
I plan on persuing a job in the CyberSecurity field potentially with a company that focuses on IPS IDS systems that incorporate active monritoring of systems. Though that's just an idea right now. Life still has a lot of time to change on me.
